The law

It differs per municipality if you need a logging permit or not if you want to remove a tree. Officially, a logging permit is now called an environmental permit. You will not always receive a logging permit. Sometimes the municipality will ask for additional research or simply reject your request. The municipality can also set requirements when issuing a permit. The municipality regularly demands that a new tree is planted after removal. 

When to say goodbye to a beautiful tree?

It is always very unfortunate if a nice tree needs to be removed. It is a waste of the tree and sin of money. Yet something is more important than the tree and money: safety. There may be several reasons for cutting down trees. Illness, nuisance, possible damage, danger to the environment, and so on. In a tree with rot, it is best to cut as quickly as possible. Actually for two reasons:

Because of the latter reason, it is to be believed that a tree with a dangerous infestation should leave as quickly as possible. Sometimes municipalities think differently about this, they want to maintain monumental trees for a long time. Then they demand expensive examinations for a logging permit, such as a stability study or a tensile test. Often these studies are unnecessary and not useful. 

Cost

Professional tree removal services always try to give the wood a destination. Nowadays more and more is being burned on wood. Draining costs more and is actually wasteful. Cutting down a tree or harvesting it does not have to be expensive.

Without logging permit or environmental permit
